The 15th National Games, making history as the first multi-region event spanning Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, are accelerating integration in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) with equestrian competitions already galloping ahead since November 10! 🐎
One Country, Two Systems in Motion
Hong Kong Jockey Club CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges called the Games a "defining moment" for regional collaboration under China's "One Country, Two Systems" principle. The event has tackled cross-border logistics, work permits, and anti-doping protocols – proving "Hong Kong is fully part of one nation," he emphasized.
The Club has invested HK$450 million locally and 50 million yuan in Guangdong, while providing technical expertise for equestrian events. "Solving these challenges brings the Bay Area closer," said Engelbrecht-Bresges, highlighting the Conghua Racecourse in Guangzhou as a model project set to host an international race in 2026. 🌟
Youth Empowerment & GBA Spirit
Beyond infrastructure, the CEO stressed nurturing a "can-do" mindset in youth through sports: "Sports teach discipline, resilience, and how to overcome setbacks – skills for life." With 1,000+ jobs created at Conghua alone, the Games are fueling both economic ties and shared identity across the GBA.
As the Games continue, they’re not just breaking records but also barriers – proving sports can be a universal language for unity. 🏆✨
