China has emerged as a global frontrunner in 6G development, with over 300 core technologies now in its arsenal, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed this week. The announcement came during the high-stakes 2025 6G Development Conference where Vice Minister Zhang Yunming outlined China's tech roadmap.
🤝 Global Teamwork Meets Cutting-Edge R&D
More than 100 domestic and international partners – including Europe's 6G-IA and the Republic of Korea's 6G Forum – are collaborating on trials. "This year marks our full-speed push into standardization," Zhang stated, comparing the effort to building a next-gen digital highway.
🔮 What's Next for 6G?
With standardization research now active, China plans to:
- Boost core tech development (think AI-integrated networks 🌐➡️🤖)
- Create real-world applications through industry partnerships
- Lead global coordination on spectrum allocation
Tech analysts predict 6G could enable holographic calls and brain-computer interfaces by the 2030s – and China wants to write the rulebook. 📡💡
