China Slams Japan PM Over Taiwan Remarks, Treaty Dispute 🌏🔥

China’s Foreign Ministry issued a fiery rebuke on Thursday after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi referenced the controversial ‘San Francisco Peace Treaty’ while sidestepping key postwar agreements. The move reignited tensions over Taiwan’s status and postwar obligations – a diplomatic minefield in 2025.

Treaty Tussle Escalates

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun called out Takaichi for ignoring foundational documents like the 1943 Cairo Declaration and 1945 Potsdam Proclamation, which solidified Japan’s post-WWII responsibilities. “Selectively citing an illegal treaty while erasing history is like rewriting the rules mid-game – it doesn’t fly,” Guo stated, referencing the 1972 Sino-Japanese Joint Statement.

Taiwan Status Sparks Heat

The ministry accused Takaichi of fueling the ‘undetermined Taiwan status’ theory – a red line for Beijing. “This isn’t just historical revisionism; it’s playing with fire that could destabilize Asia,” Guo warned, urging Japan to “walk the talk” on its UN commitments.

What’s Next?

With cross-strait relations already tense this year, China demanded Japan retract the comments and ‘show real actions’ to preserve regional stability. Analysts say the spat could impact tech trade and youth cultural exchanges between the two economic giants. 🚨
