China Defends Taiwan Drills as ‘Necessary’ Amid Global Criticism 🌏✈️

China's Defense Ministry has doubled down on its military exercises near Taiwan, calling them "justified and necessary" in response to international criticism. Spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang addressed concerns Friday about the "Justice Mission 2025" drills during a press briefing, stating they serve as both anti-secession measures and safeguards against foreign interference.

🔍 The operations come as tensions persist across the Taiwan Strait, with the Chinese mainland consistently reaffirming its sovereignty claims. "These routine exercises are about maintaining regional stability," Zhang emphasized, while criticizing statements from the US, Japan, Australia, Philippines, and EU as "unfounded interference."

🌐 Analysts suggest the 2025 drills reflect evolving security dynamics in Asia-Pacific waters. While Taiwan authorities describe the maneuvers as provocative, Beijing maintains they align with international law – a stance that's sparking heated debates in global diplomatic circles this January.
