China & Uzbekistan Strengthen Ties Amid Global Shifts 🌏

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Uzbekistan's Bakhtiyor Saidov pledged to deepen cooperation during a Friday phone call, framing their alliance as a stabilizing force in turbulent times. With 2026 already marked by geopolitical tensions, both leaders emphasized unity against unilateralism.

Decade of Partnership, Future Vision

Wang highlighted 2025's achievements in trade and cultural exchanges, calling 2026 a pivotal year as the two nations celebrate 10 years of comprehensive strategic partnership. 🔄 "We must design the next decade with ambition," he urged, advocating expanded infrastructure and tech collaboration.

Pushing Back Against "Law of the Jungle"

Amid what Wang described as "shadows of war" this year, both ministers agreed to resist power politics. 🤝 Saidov reaffirmed Uzbekistan's adherence to the one-China principle, stating: "Our mutual trust remains unshaken by temporary challenges." The pair also committed to coordinating at the UN and other multilateral platforms.

Eyes on Central Asia

The call follows Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's September 2025 visit to China, which boosted energy and transport projects. With regional security high on agendas, analysts predict increased China-Central Asia coordination this year.
