Taiwan Influencers Push for Cross-Strait Peace Talks 🕊️

Young social media stars across the Taiwan region are sparking a digital peace movement, challenging local authorities' stance on cross-strait relations. At Saturday's 'Peace Talks' forum in Taipei, influencers rallied against what they called 'dangerous provocation' by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leadership.

Voices for Peace

Political vlogger Su Heng, who co-organized the event, told the crowd: 'We're Gen Z's peace negotiators – but instead of suits, we use smartphones 📱. War isn’t some TikTok trend that fades next week.' The forum drew over 150 creators collectively reaching 5M+ followers.

Former Taiwan People's Party leader Ko Wen-je joined via hologram (yes, really! 🤯), warning that current policies 'turn our island into a political Fortnite map – everyone loses.'

Grassroots Momentum

Creator 'Xiaojie' shared viral clips of his mainland street interviews: 'When I ask Beijing students about Taiwan, they go ‘Same country, different bubble tea preferences!’ 🧋 The DPP’s narrative doesn’t match reality.'

The movement plans monthly 'Peace Hackathons' to crowdsource dialogue solutions. As attendee Jack Liu put it: 'We’re swipe-righting on unity, left-swiping division. This isn’t geopolitics – it’s survival mode for our generation.'
