BYD Accelerates Middle East Expansion with Innovation Push 🌍⚡

At the 2026 World Governments Summit in Dubai, BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li revealed ambitious plans to deepen the company's Middle East footprint through cutting-edge tech and youth-driven R&D. 🔋🚗

⚡ Charging Into New Markets

Li told CCTV that BYD is currently collaborating with UAE partners on smart city integration for electric vehicles, calling the region "a living lab for sustainable mobility." The company plans to open three new R&D centers in the Middle East this year, focusing on AI-powered charging networks and desert-optimized battery tech.

🧠 Young Engineers Take the Wheel

Over 40% of BYD's Middle East innovation team are under 30, a strategy Li says mirrors the region's youth demographics: "When you’re designing for Gen Alpha’s future, you need their peers at the drawing board." The company recently launched a regional startup incubator for EV-related tech, already attracting 22 Emirati-led projects.

🌐 Cross-Border Synergy

With Dubai’s 2026 Smart City Initiative gaining momentum, BYD aims to integrate its vehicle-to-grid systems with local infrastructure. "It’s not just about selling cars," Li emphasized. "We’re co-creating ecosystems – imagine your EV automatically adjusting charge cycles during sandstorms."
