China’s ‘Deep-Sea Space Station’ Breaks Depth Records in Tunnel Project

🚇 China's cutting-edge 'deep-sea space station' technology just rewrote the rules of undersea engineering! The self-developed saturation pressurized tunnel boring machine (TBM) system completed its first 75-meter-deep high-pressure intervention earlier this week during construction of the Jintang subsea tunnel on the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway.

🌊 Operating like an underwater astronaut base, the system worked continuously for 22 days to replace 46 cutters – smashing through the traditional 60-meter safety barrier like a subaquatic superhero. This breakthrough comes after three years of R&D, positioning China as a leader in deep-sea infrastructure tech.

💡 Engineers are calling it a 'game-changer' for coastal megaprojects. 'This is our undersea Tiangong,' said project lead Zhang Wei, referencing China's space station program. The achievement could accelerate development of marine transport networks across Asia's rapidly growing coastal cities.
