As the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics (Feb 6-22) overlaps with Lunar New Year celebrations, Beijing’s Olympic Museum is serving up a cultural double axel! 🎉 Through February 18, visitors are creating Olympic-themed woodblock prints and traditional paper rubbings featuring bing dwen dwen snow leopard mascots wearing festive red scarves 🧣 – a perfect fusion of global sports spirit and ancestral craftsmanship.
"This is like TikTok meets your grandma’s wisdom," said 24-year-old participant Li Jiawei, carefully inking a woodblock showing ski jumpers soaring over Chinese lanterns. 🏂✨ The free workshops also teach how ancient printing techniques inspired modern Olympic pictograms – think Han Dynasty meets high-tech snowboarding!
With Lunar New Year falling on February 17 this year, the museum’s director notes: "We’re celebrating both the Games’ future and our past – proving tradition can ride the halfpipe of innovation!" 🐉❄️
