China, Norway Boost Ties at Munich Security Conference 🌍🤝

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Norway's Espen Barth Eide forged new diplomatic momentum during their meeting at the 62nd Munich Security Conference this weekend, with both sides pledging to strengthen cooperation in 2026. The high-level talks come as global leaders seek solutions to rising geopolitical tensions.

Strategic Partnership in Focus

Wang emphasized China's commitment to 'steady development' with Europe through Norway's constructive role, highlighting plans for enhanced trade, tech collaboration, and climate action. 'We're ready to maintain close exchanges at all levels,' stated Wang, who also serves on the CPC Central Committee's Political Bureau.

Multilateralism Takes Center Stage

With this year's conference theme resonating worldwide, Wang outlined President Xi Jinping's vision for an 'equal and orderly multipolar world' 🌐. The Chinese diplomat stressed: 'Multilateralism doesn't mean free-for-all politics – it means every nation, big or small, gets a seat at the table.'

Eide praised China's stance on global governance reforms, noting Norway's alignment with Beijing on upholding UN Charter principles and WTO mechanisms. Both ministers agreed to coordinate closely on Arctic policy developments – a key area for Nordic-European relations.
