China Welcomes Year of the Horse with Dazzling Festivities 🐎✨

Cities across the Chinese mainland transformed into glowing spectacles this week as millions celebrated the Lunar New Year, ringing in the Year of the Horse with fireworks, lantern displays, and cultural performances. From ice-covered Jilin in the northeast to tropical Yunnan in the southwest, communities embraced traditions blending ancient symbolism and modern flair.

🏮 Night markets buzzed with families shopping for red decorations symbolizing luck, while tech-enhanced light shows projected galloping horses onto skyscrapers in Shanghai and Shenzhen. “It feels like the whole country is united in joy,” said Li Wei, a college student in Beijing, as she shared Reels of dragon dancers parading through Wangfujing Street.

Local governments organized free public events to promote cultural heritage, including paper-cutting workshops and Uygur folk music concerts in Xinjiang. Analysts note this year’s celebrations highlight China’s post-pandemic cultural revival, with domestic tourism expected to surge 20% during the holiday period.
