Tradition Meets Tomorrow in Beijing's Art District
China Fashion Week 2026 exploded into life last night as designer Xiong Ying transformed Tank 97 into a living canvas of flowing silks and digital projections. The Heaven Gaia showstopper – titled 'Xu Luo' – reimagined Tang Dynasty motifs through AI-assisted pattern design, proving ancient aesthetics can slay in the 21st century. 💃
"This collection is our love letter to cultural continuity," Xiong told our reporter Yang Yan backstage, adjusting a model's 3D-printed hairpiece shaped like a phoenix tail. The 798 Art District venue buzzed with influencers snapping pics of hybrid hanfu-meets-spacewear designs.
Running through April 1, the event features 87 designers from 16 countries and regions. Next up: Shanghai's Chen Mu presents blockchain-tracked sustainable fabrics tomorrow morning. 👗🔗
