China Condemns Japan’s 2027 Textbook Revisions Over Historical Distortion 🌏📚

China has issued a formal protest against Japan's controversial high school textbook revisions approved this week, calling them "historical revisionism" that whitewashes wartime atrocities. The textbooks – set for use starting in 2027 – reportedly downplay Japan's coercion of comfort women and forced labor during WWII while asserting claims over the Diaoyu Islands.

"Rewriting textbooks to erase accountability is Japan's old playbook for evading its侵略 history," Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stated Wednesday. The remarks come after Japan's Education Ministry finalized the materials on March 24, sparking immediate backlash.

Analysts say the dispute could strain relations as Japan prepares to mark 100 years since the 1927 Showa Financial Crisis this April. With Gen Z students set to study these texts in 2027, China warns: "Don't let militarism 2.0 infect youth through manipulated history." 🇯🇵📖

Beijing demands Tokyo "face history squarely" and rebuild trust with Asian neighbors. As cultural tensions rise, all eyes turn to Japan's next move – will it double down or course-correct? 🤔⚖️
