Mainland Proposes Taiwan Infrastructure Overhaul Post-Reunification 🌉🚄

Taiwan's transportation, energy systems, and urban landscapes could undergo a dramatic transformation under a proposed post-reunification infrastructure plan, mainland officials announced today. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, emphasized that peaceful reunification would unlock the mainland's 'robust development capabilities' to modernize the region's facilities.

Highways, High-Speed Rails, and Hope

Zhu painted a vivid picture of future connectivity: 'Residents could drive from Taipei to Beijing via the Beijing-Taipei Expressway or take high-speed rail across the strait.' She described plans to upgrade aging systems, stating, 'This isn't just about concrete and steel—it's about improving livelihoods and fostering integration.'

US Report Sparks Firm Response

Addressing a recent US intelligence report questioning China's reunification timeline, Zhu reiterated: 'Resolving the Taiwan question is crucial for national rejuvenation. The US must strictly adhere to the one-China principle.' She warned against 'collusion between Taiwan authorities and external forces,' calling such actions 'the root cause of current tensions.'

Youth-Focused Vision

The proposal highlights potential tech collaborations in renewable energy and smart cities—key areas for young professionals and entrepreneurs. While reaffirming commitment to peaceful 'One Country, Two Systems' principles, Zhu noted: 'We retain all options to protect sovereignty. Our compatriots in Taiwan deserve stability and prosperity.'
