Golden Monkey King Awards Shine Spotlight on Global Animation at CICAF Hangzhou

🎉 The 20th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF) kicked off in vibrant Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, celebrating the best in animation from around the globe. Dubbed the \"highest honor in Chinese animation,\" the Golden Monkey King Awards recognized 34 outstanding animated works this year. 🌟

The festival, running for five days under the theme \"The Prime of Chinese Animation,\" attracted over 2,100 enterprises and institutions from more than 50 countries and regions. With a staggering 140,000 animated works on display, both domestic and international creators had the chance to showcase their talent.

This year's Golden Monkey King Awards, hosted by China Media Group, featured three main categories: General Awards, Promising Awards, and Animation Featuring Revolutionary Traditions Awards. Out of 765 original submissions from 17 countries and regions, 88 pieces made it to the final evaluation.

Standout winners included Stories of Dunhuang by CCTV Animation Group, which captured the ancient grandeur of Dunhuang and its Silk Road heritage, earning the Gold Prize for General Award-Animated Series. Other notable winners were Chang An for General Award-Animated Feature Film and Seasons for General Award-Animated Short Film. Additionally, Mountains of the Wind Glow took home the Gold Prize for General Award-Comics, and Team of the Summit received the Special Prize for Animation Featuring Revolutionary Traditions.

The Promising Awards also saw impressive entries, with twelve animated shorts and six comics being honored for their exceptional potential. 🏆
