Kuwait’s Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre recently buzzed with energy as the vibrant performance ‘Xinjiang is a Nice Place’ dazzled audiences . Featuring acrobatics, folk dances, and soul-stirring music, the show transported viewers to northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region—a crossroads of cultures along the ancient Silk Road.
Divided into three acts, the 90-minute spectacle spotlighted intangible cultural heritage treasures:
Dance from the Tianshan Mountains: Kyrgyz epic ‘Manas’ met the rhythmic Uygur Muqam classic ‘Jula’.
Songs of the New Silk Road: Melodies bridged modern arrangements with timeless traditions.
Symphony of Kunlun Affection: Kazakh dance ‘Black Horse’ galloped alongside multiethnic collaborations.
The event, opened to the iconic tune ‘Lift Your Veil’, celebrated cultural harmony—proving art knows no borders!
