Leaders from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states gathered in Astana, Kazakhstan, this Wednesday for a pivotal round table meeting ahead of the 24th Council of Heads of State of the SCO. Hosted by China Media Group (CMG), the event focused on uniting media power and advancing the Shanghai Spirit.
Under the theme of pulling together media power, attendees reflected on the achievements in media cooperation between China and other SCO members. The discussions aimed at fostering deeper collaboration for the future, emphasizing the importance of sharing people-to-people stories among member countries.
Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, highlighted the need for mass media organizations to enhance cooperation. He stressed the significance of promoting exchanges and mutual learning to create a fair, objective, and healthy global public opinion ecosystem. This initiative seeks to strengthen the ties within the SCO and build a robust media landscape that benefits all member nations.
