What does China look like through the eyes of a child? For 10-year-old Chen Shiyue, a Germany-based budding artist, it’s a vibrant tapestry of pandas, lanterns, and iconic landmarks – all captured in her award-winning painting titled I Love China.
Using colored pencils, Chen drew the Great Wall snaking across mountains 🏔️, the majestic Ti’ananmen Gate tower, and Shanghai’s futuristic Oriental Pearl Tower. Red lanterns, a traditional pipa instrument, and bite-sized street snacks add playful charm. At the center, she boldly wrote “I Love China” in Chinese characters, surrounded by her favorite symbols from stories her mother shared. 🐼❤️
Her cozy, evenly balanced artwork won Third Prize in the China Through My Eyes Global Children’s Art Project, celebrating youthful creativity and cross-cultural connections. 🌍✨
