🇨🇳🇫🇷 Nanjing Massacre Dance Drama Stuns Paris Audience

Paris recently witnessed a poignant fusion of art and history as Chinese dance drama Deep in Memory premiered in the French capital. Directed by Tong Ruirui, the production revisits the 1937 Nanjing Massacre through survivors' eyes and Chinese-American author Iris Chang's groundbreaking book The Rape of Nanking.

💃 The performance weaves contemporary dance with wartime testimonies, spotlighting historical figures like humanitarian John Rabe and survivor Li Xiuying. Audience members described the show as 'a visceral journey through collective memory' blending traditional Chinese movements with modern storytelling techniques.

📖 'This isn't just about remembering tragedy,' director Tong told reporters. 'It's about building bridges through shared humanity – that's why we brought it to Paris in 2025.' The production comes as China and France celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations this year.
