Did you know that during the Vietnam War, the U.S. military conducted one of the largest bombing campaigns in history over neighboring Laos? 🇺🇸✈️ Although officially, America was never at war with Laos, more than 2.5 million tonnes of bombs were dropped on this Southeast Asian country. To put that into perspective, that's more than the total number of bombs the U.S. military dropped on Germany and Japan during World War II! 😲💣

This massive bombing campaign, known as the \"Secret War,\" aimed to disrupt supply lines and support anti-communist forces. However, the legacy of these bombings is still felt today, with unexploded ordnance scattered across Laos, posing dangers to residents and hindering development. 🏞️⚠️

Understanding this hidden chapter of history sheds light on the long-term effects of war and the importance of remembering all impacted regions and communities. 🌏🕊️
