Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of Chinese residents from Wuhan living in Japan launched a heartfelt mission to support their hometown. They organized a direct logistics route to deliver critical medical supplies straight to Wuhan’s hospitals, bypassing bureaucratic hurdles.
As of this week, their efforts have sent over 203,380 masks, 22,473 protective suits, and thousands more goggles and gloves to frontline workers. The initiative highlights the power of diaspora communities bridging borders during crises.
Xu Xilan, a restaurant owner in Japan for over 30 years, said: \"We're from Hubei—this is what we do.\" Meanwhile, banker Meng Zhi, who’s been in Japan 18 years, emphasized family bonds: \"In hard times, being there for loved ones matters more than money or careers.\"
Their story isn’t just about supplies—it’s a global reminder that compassion has no borders.
