As COVID-19 swept through Wuhan, Chinese residents in Japan sprang into action, creating a lifeline for their hometown. 🎗️ A group of Wuhan natives established a direct logistics channel to send critical supplies from Japan to hospitals in the Chinese mainland city. Over 200,000 masks, 22,000+ protective suits, and thousands of goggles and gloves have already reached frontline workers.
\"We're both from Hubei and Wuhan people. This is what we have to do,\" said Xu Xilan, a restaurant owner in Japan for 30+ years. Fellow organizer Meng Zhi, a banker in Tokyo for 18 years, emphasized familial bonds: \"In the this hard time, when we need care the most, being with family is more important than anything… Once family leaves, they're gone forever.\"
