On December 23, the State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) hosted a virtual open day for the Hunutlu Thermal Power Plant project in Adana province, Turkey.
The livestream event showcased the plant's construction progress and SPIC's commitment to environmental protection in the area. Situated near the Mediterranean Sea, the plant boasts a total installed capacity of 1.32 million kilowatts, promising a significant boost to the region's energy infrastructure.
For the residents of Hunutlu village, one of the most cherished sights each year is the arrival of sea turtles embarking on their first journey to the sea. Thanks to SPIC's environmentally friendly design, the construction has kept the beach pristine, with no dust or pollution. The plant's flue-gas purification system, integrated with cooling towers, ensures a cleaner ecological environment for the Mediterranean waters.
These eco-conscious efforts by SPIC not only support sustainable energy production but also protect the natural habitats of local wildlife, creating a harmonious balance between development and nature.
