Barcelona Engineer’s Epic 25,700km Pandemic Cycling Odyssey Across Europe 🌍🚴♂️

Meet Cabutí, the Spanish engineer who turned pandemic chaos into a pedal-powered adventure of a lifetime 🚴♂️. What started as a canceled Singapore-bound bike trip became a 10-month journey through 43 European countries—all amid COVID-19 lockdowns and border battles.

When Plan A Hits a Roadblock 🛑

Days before Europe’s 2020 lockdowns, Cabutí set off from Barcelona with dreams of cycling to Singapore. But COVID had other plans: Italy’s sudden border closure left him stranded on Day 2, scrambling for shelter as hotels shut their doors. 🏨❌

Pedaling Through the Unknown 🗺️

Undeterred, Cabutí rerouted through 25,700km of Europe’s shifting pandemic landscapes—from Germany’s autobahns to Slovenia’s alpine passes. ‘Every empty street told a story,’ he recalls, describing encounters with locked-down cities and unexpectedly welcoming rural communities.

43 Countries, Countless Lessons 🌟

The engineer-turned-explorer crossed into Belarus, Switzerland, France, and beyond, documenting a continent in flux. ‘This trip wasn’t about distance,’ Cabutí reflects. ‘It became about rediscovering human connection when the world felt most divided.’
