Palestine’s Amputee Football Team Dreams of Global Stage 🌍⚽

On International Day for People with Disabilities, history was made in Gaza as Palestine’s first national amputee football team kicked off their journey 🦾⚡. Composed of 20 resilient athletes who lost limbs due to conflicts or accidents, the team is training tirelessly to compete in the 2024 Amputee Football World Cup.

Supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), players navigate Gaza City’s stadium using crutches and prosthetic legs, turning adversity into athletic prowess. \"My goal is to represent Palestine internationally,\" said Hassan Karim, a team member whose determination echoes across the squad.

ICRC consultant Simon Baker emphasized the initiative’s impact: \"Sports transcend physical limitations – this team is rewriting narratives about disability and conflict.\" With every drill, these athletes aren’t just chasing trophies 🏆; they’re proving resilience knows no borders.
