This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China's ambitious project to boost global connectivity through trade and infrastructure. From high-speed railways to smart ports, the BRI has become a symbol of cross-border collaboration—and young people worldwide are taking notice.
We headed to Tsinghua University’s campus in Beijing to chat with international students about their hopes for the BRI’s next chapter. Chong Wen-fei from Indonesia dreams of more projects like the lightning-fast Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway: \"Stronger ties mean more opportunities for both our countries!\"
Singaporean student Shinna highlighted the BRI’s role in boosting regional efficiency: \"Faster transportation means closer economies. It’s like linking all our TikTok feeds into one seamless feed!\"
