In the midst of a temporary humanitarian truce between Hamas and Israel, many displaced Gazans are taking a courageous step towards rebuilding their lives.
On November 24, at 7 a.m. local time, the first temporary truce went into effect in Gaza, halting gunfire and allowing residents to return home. Just three days later, on November 27, a Qatari official announced an extension of the truce for an additional two days. This extension opens the door for more exchanges of hostages and prisoners, as well as increased humanitarian aid flowing into the region.
Despite the slowdown in violence, the path home remains challenging. Buildings once alive with activity have been bombed into rubble, leaving families to navigate the wreckage in search of daily necessities.
One local shared with a CGTN Stringer images of piles of rubble near his home, stripped away by the relentless bombing. \"All I want is to live in peace,\" said another resident who endured three airstrikes, reflecting the deep yearning for normalcy and safety.
As Gazans strive to reclaim their homes and lives, the fragile truce offers a glimmer of hope amid the chaos.
