In early May, as Israel urged residents of Gaza’s Rafah to evacuate ahead of a military operation, Enas Abdel Ghaffar and her family packed their lives into bags and fled west. Now, like nearly half a million others, they’re living in tents in Al-Mawasi—a so-called ‘humanitarian zone’ that feels anything but safe.

🔍 CGTN spoke to Enas, who described scorching days without electricity, contaminated water, and a heartbreaking battle to keep her youngest son healthy. ‘My baby has fever and diarrhea from the sun,’ she said. ‘We have no medicine, no way to cool down.’

💔 The UN reports over 450,000 have left Rafah since the evacuation order, many displaced multiple times. Families sleep under flimsy tarps, rationing food and praying for aid. ‘People here are exhausted,’ Enas added. ‘This isn’t life—it’s survival.’

📉 With Gaza’s healthcare system collapsing and temperatures rising, the crisis underscores the human cost of prolonged conflict. As global attention shifts, displaced families like Enas’s wonder: ‘How much longer can we endure?’
