Celebrating Culture: Anna Yuschenko Explores Tongjiang’s Wurigong Festival 🇨🇳🇷🇺

Nestled at the confluence of the Songhua and Amur rivers, Tongjiang is a vibrant city of 160,000 residents in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. 🇨🇳 This border town not only marks the gateway between China and Russia but also serves as a melting pot of cultures.

Recently, Russian content creator and Tsinghua University international student, Anna Yuschenko, visited Tongjiang during the lively Wurigong Festival. 🎉 The festival, celebrated annually on the 15th day of the fifth month in the traditional Chinese calendar, spans two to three days filled with \"Wurigong\" – meaning \"celebration and joy\" in the Hezhe language.

Immersed in the rich customs of the Hezhe ethnic group, Anna was warmly welcomed by the local community. The hospitality and friendliness of the residents made her feel right at home. 🏡 Shops adorned with Russian signs added a unique charm, reflecting the deep-rooted exchanges between China and Russia over the years.

The Wurigong Festival not only highlights the cultural heritage of Tongjiang but also symbolizes the enduring bond between neighboring nations. 🌍✨ Through events like these, cultural bridges are strengthened, fostering mutual understanding and celebration of diversity.
