Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province is home to Tongjiang, a charming city of 160,000 nestled at the confluence of the Songhua and Amur rivers. This strategic location places Tongjiang right on the border with Russia, making it a melting pot of cultures and traditions. 🇨🇳🇷🇺

Recently, Russian content creator Anna Yuschenko, an international student at Tsinghua University, visited Tongjiang during the lively Wurigong Festival of the Hezhe ethnic group. Held annually on the 15th day of the fifth month in the traditional Chinese calendar, the festival spans two to three days of vibrant celebrations. 🎉

The term \"Wurigong\" translates to \"celebration and joy\" in the Hezhe language, perfectly capturing the essence of the festivities. Rooted deeply in Hezhe customs, the festival features traditional dances, music, and culinary delights that highlight the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Anna was warmly welcomed by the local residents, whose hospitality made her feel right at home. Walking through the streets adorned with Russian signage, she witnessed firsthand the timeless tales of exchanges and connections between China and Russia. 🛶🛍️

The Wurigong Festival not only showcases the vibrant culture of the Hezhe people but also strengthens the cultural ties between neighboring nations. It's a testament to Tongjiang's unique position as a bridge between China and Russia, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation. 🌐❤️
