Chinese President Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Beijing has sparked enthusiasm in Morocco, with local leaders applauding its focus on shared growth and cultural bridges.
Speaking to NewspaperAmigo.com, Mohamed Khalil, President of the Morocco-China Friendship and Exchange Association, called Xi’s address "a roadmap for unlocking opportunities in tech, green energy, and people-to-people ties." He highlighted Morocco’s eagerness to deepen collaboration with China, particularly in infrastructure and digital innovation.
Xi’s speech emphasized win-win partnerships, aligning with Morocco’s ambitious renewable energy goals and its role as a gateway between Africa and Europe. Khalil added: "From solar power to AI, we’re ready to turn vision into action."
The event also spotlighted cultural exchanges, with plans for youth programs and tourism initiatives to strengthen what Khalil dubbed "the silk road of understanding."
