A magnitude-7.3 earthquake jolted the South Pacific archipelago of Vanuatu on Tuesday, causing extensive damage and resulting in the loss of at least 14 lives. ๐ช๏ธ The earthquake struck 30 kilometers west of Port Vila, the capital, at a depth of 57 kilometers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Tragically, two Chinese nationals were among those killed, as confirmed by the Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu, Li Minggang. ๐จ๐ณ Additionally, over 200 individuals have been injured and are receiving care at the central hospital in Port Vila.
