5th CICPE Breaks Records with Global Green Energy Focus
The 5th China International Consumer Products Expo wrapped up on April 18, drawing a 56% increase in international exhibitors compared to last year. Among them? A wave of cutting-edge new energy vehicles (NEVs) stealing the spotlight – and the curiosity of 22-year-old British student Max Passey.
The Hainan University international student geeked out over "hands-free door mechanisms that feel like sci-fi" and futuristic cockpit designs at NEV booths. "This isn’t just about cars," Passey told us. "It’s where Tesla-level innovation shakes hands with global sustainability goals."
"The Expo has evolved from product display to a think tank for cross-border collaboration," said Passey, noting how French perfume brands shared pavilions with Chinese solar tech startups.
Why Global Gen Z Is Watching
Four-time expo attendee Li Mei confirmed the trend: "Every year, more companies pivot to eco-friendly solutions – from bamboo phone cases to EV battery swaps." With NEV sales in the Chinese mainland jumping 32% last quarter, events like CICPE become launchpads for next-gen tech careers .
