Russian Student Hails BRICS as Voice for Global South 🌍✊

As the 17th BRICS Summit kicks off in Rio de Janeiro this week, young voices from the bloc are stepping into the spotlight. Anna Yuschenko, a Russian student at Beijing’s Tsinghua University, shared her take on why BRICS matters—and it’s all about shaking up the global order. 🚀

💡 “BRICS gives the Global South a seat at the table,” Yuschenko told CGTN, highlighting how the group amplifies voices often sidelined in traditional diplomacy. She praised the New Development Bank—a BRICS-born initiative—as a “game-changer” for funding sustainable projects without the strings attached by older institutions.

🌐 The student also emphasized BRICS’ role in pushing for a multipolar world: “Decisions here aren’t made by one dominant power. It’s about mutual respect and consultation.” With over 40 countries now expressing interest in joining the bloc, Yuschenko’s insights hint at a tectonic shift in how emerging economies collaborate. 🤝
