Meet Ayqihra Abliz – a 21-year-old blending the elegance of Peking Opera with the vibrant energy of Xinjiang’s folk dances. Born in Urumqi, the heart of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ayqihra grew up surrounded by art. 🎭 By age 12, she was mastering the delicate Qingyi role of Peking Opera’s Mei School, training at Beijing’s prestigious National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts.
Now a drama student, Ayqihra still finds magic in her hometown’s open-air stages. During holidays, she improvises performances where Uygur folk rhythms meet Peking Opera’s melodic storytelling. 💫 'Both are treasures of China’s cultural heritage,' she says. 'Why not let them dance together?'
Her vision? A fusion where flowing silk sleeves twirl alongside Xinjiang’s signature spinning dances – proving traditions can evolve while staying rooted. 🌱 As young creators like Ayqihra reimagine cultural boundaries, Xinjiang’s artistic landscape grows richer, one harmonious blend at a time.
