Typhoon Doksuri Hits Southeast China with Red Alert 🌪️

Typhoon Doksuri, the fifth typhoon of the year, made landfall in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, on Thursday morning, bringing fierce winds and heavy rain. China’s National Meteorological Center issued a red alert — the highest warning level — urging residents to stay indoors as the storm batters the southeast coast.

The typhoon’s arrival disrupted travel and forced local authorities to suspend schools, flights, and ferry services. Videos circulating online show flooded streets and swaying trees, with wind speeds reportedly exceeding 120 km/h (75 mph). 🚨

Fujian, a hub for tech and manufacturing, is bracing for potential economic impacts as factories temporarily shut down. Meanwhile, emergency teams are on standby to assist affected communities. “Safety first,” tweeted one resident, sharing footage of waves crashing over coastal barriers.

This year’s typhoon season has been relentless, with Doksuri following closely after Typhoon Talim. Climate experts warn such extreme weather events may become more frequent due to warming ocean temperatures. 🌊
