WTO Public Forum Sparks Debate on Green Tech & Digital Future
The World Trade Organization’s biggest annual event, the Public Forum, kicked off this week with a focus on merging digital innovation and sustainability . Hosted by CGTN’s Tian Wei, the session titled ‘The Digital Boost to Green Innovation’ brought together governments, entrepreneurs, and academics to brainstorm how tech can accelerate eco-friendly solutions – from renewable energy to smart agriculture.
Key topics? How AI and blockchain can track carbon footprints, why digital tools are critical for inclusive climate policies, and whether global trade rules need a ‘green upgrade’ to support startups. Spoiler: Young professionals and students are driving much of this shift!
‘This isn’t just about gadgets,’ said one panelist. ‘It’s about creating systems where tech helps everyone – from small farmers in Kenya to clean-energy investors in Berlin – benefit from sustainable growth.’
