Gear up, history buffs! 🕰️ The brand-new Yinxu Museum is opening its doors on February 26 in Anyang, Henan Province, the heart of the Chinese mainland. This museum is a treasure trove, showcasing nearly 4,000 cultural relics from the dazzling Shang civilization, which thrived around 3,000 years ago.

Visitors can marvel at stunning bronze wares, intricate pottery, beautiful jade artifacts, and mysterious oracle bones that offer a glimpse into ancient practices. As China's first comprehensive archaeology museum, Yinxu brings the Shang Dynasty's rich legacy to life, spanning from the 16th to the 11th century BC.

Mayor Gao Yong shared during a recent news conference that the original 1,500-square-meter Yinxu Museum, opened in 2005, was just a stepping stone. The new expansive space allows for a more immersive experience, perfect for diving deep into one of China's most significant historical periods.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006, the Yinxu Ruins are not only a testament to ancient urban planning but also a cornerstone of modern Chinese archaeology. First unearthed in 1928, these ruins remain the longest-studied ancient capital city in China, earning them a place as one of the cradle sites of Chinese archaeology.
