Millions of Livestock Embark on Spring Migration in Xinjiang 🌄🐑

Every March, a breathtaking natural spectacle unfolds in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as millions of sheep, cattle, and horses begin their annual spring migration. Herders in Ili Prefecture are currently guiding their livestock along ancient transhumance routes from winter pastures to lush spring grasslands—a tradition dating back centuries.

🚜 Modern meets traditional: Local authorities have deployed drones and real-time weather updates to ensure safe passage, while mobile veterinary stations and rest stops dot the journey. Key stops include Tekes County's winding valleys and the iconic Nalati Grassland, where herds will graze until summer.

\"This migration isn't just about moving animals—it's part of our cultural DNA,\" explains Ablimit, a fifth-generation herder. The event has also sparked interest among eco-tourists, with responsible travel groups offering migration trail experiences that support local communities.
