Swift Rescue Efforts Underway in Xizang After 6.8 Earthquake 🌍🛠️

A powerful magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in Xigaze, located in the southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, at a depth of 10 kilometers early Tuesday morning at 9:05 a.m.

In response to the tremor, Xizang has elevated its earthquake emergency response to Level I, the highest alert level, as announced by the region's emergency command center.

By 10 p.m. on Tuesday, the first batch of over 5,800 relief supplies had arrived in the earthquake-affected areas of Dingri. These supplies, including cotton tents, clothing, and quilts, were urgently dispatched by the Office of the National Commission for Disaster Reduction and Relief, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the National Grain and Reserves Administration to support those impacted by the quake.

The relief efforts don't stop there! An additional 16,000-plus items of supplies are scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, ensuring that the affected communities receive the necessary aid to recover and rebuild.
