The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has raised the cold wave warning to orange, the highest alert level, as an intense cold wave sweeps across large parts of China. This extreme weather is set to bring significant drops in temperature, along with rain, snow, strong winds, and dust storms.
From February 18-22, most regions are expected to experience severe temperature drops. In northwest China, temperatures have already fallen by 8 to 16 degrees Celsius, with some areas seeing reductions of over 20 degrees. In Qinghe County of Altay Prefecture in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, temperatures have plunged to as low as minus 43.3 degrees Celsius. Stay safe and bundle up!
