Belgium’s Panda Trio Set for 2024 Return to China 🐼✈️

Three beloved giant pandas at Belgium’s Pairi Daiza zoo—Tian Bao, Bao Di, and Bao Mei—will bid farewell to their Belgian fans and return to the Chinese mainland in 2024, the zoo announced this week. The move marks the end of a decade-long conservation partnership that brought joy to millions of visitors 🎋❤️.

The pandas, born in Belgium between 2016 and 2019 to parents Hao Hao and Xing Hui, are part of China’s global conservation program aimed at protecting the endangered species. Their departure follows a longstanding agreement that offspring born abroad return to China by age four to participate in breeding initiatives.

Pairi Daiza’s spokesperson called the trio \"ambassadors of wildlife cooperation,\" adding that their stay boosted local awareness about biodiversity. Fans worldwide are already flooding social media with #PandaMemories from their visits 🌟.

China currently partners with over 20 countries on panda conservation, blending diplomacy and environmental science. Will these fuzzy envoys inspire new collaborations? Stay tuned!
