Guo Lanping, head of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences' Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, revealed that out of these, 3,151 TCM herbs are unique to China. 🌱 This highlights the country’s vast biodiversity and the unique resources it offers to the world of natural medicine.
The survey also emphasized the need for conservation, identifying 464 varieties of drug materials that require protection to ensure they remain available for future generations. 🛡️
Excitingly, the survey led to the discovery of 196 new species, with around 100 believed to have potential medicinal uses. This opens up new avenues for research and development in the field of natural medicine. 🧬🔍
