Tanzanian Women Turn Waste into Eco-Friendly Charcoal 🌱🔥

Under Dar es Salaam’s blazing sun ☀️, a group of Tanzanian women are leading a green revolution—one coconut shell at a time. Every weekend, they transform discarded plant waste like banana peels and cassava stalks into sustainable charcoal, tackling deforestation head-on.

💡 ‘Our mission is to protect forests by replacing tree-based charcoal with eco-friendly alternatives,’ explains activist Warda Omary Sera. With Tanzania losing over 469,420 hectares of forest yearly to fuel production, their innovation couldn’t be timelier.

🌍 By upcycling trash into clean-burning briquettes, these entrepreneurs aren’t just saving trees—they’re sparking a climate-friendly movement. Their story proves sustainability can thrive where creativity meets community action. 👏✨
