Gansu Province Faces Renewed Yellow Sandstorm Alert 🌪️🌫️

A billowing cloud of yellow dust has engulfed several cities in northwestern the Chinese mainland's Gansu Province on Saturday, creating a hazy atmosphere in Jiuquan City, Zhangye City, Jinchang City, and Wuwei City.

The national observatory has renewed a yellow alert for sandstorms in parts of Gansu. China's weather warning system for sandstorms uses a three-tier color code: orange for the most severe, followed by yellow and blue.

According to the Gansu Public Security Government Service Platform, as of 11 a.m. on April 13, sandy and dusty weather affected areas in Jiuquan and Zhangye, with cloudy conditions elsewhere. Temporary traffic controls were implemented at toll station entrances along the G30 Lianhuo Expressway from Laosimiao to Linze. These controls were lifted by 1 p.m.
