Mexico’s Heat Wave Causes Major Power Outages: President Assures Stability 🔥⚡

🔥 Mexico is currently grappling with an intense heat wave that has triggered extraordinary power outages across the nation.

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador addressed the situation during a regular government press conference on Wednesday, reassuring citizens that the national grid has sufficient generating capacity to handle future demands. He emphasized the government's commitment to coordinating with private power producers, who account for about half of Mexico's electricity generation.

According to data from grid operator CENACE, around 20 out of Mexico's 32 states experienced rolling power outages on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, the net national power demand reached approximately 44.9 gigawatts (GW), nearly matching the net generation of 45.0 GW.

\"This was something exceptional that was not expected,\" said Lopez Obrador, highlighting the severe heat wave affecting parts of the country. He assured the public, \"But we're going to be very attentive to this special situation we're dealing with.\" 🛠️🌞
