The Chinese Mainland’s Decade of Greening: 58.9M Hectares Planted

🌍✨ Happy World Environment Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible efforts to protect our planet, with this year's campaign spotlighting land restoration, combating desertification, and building drought resilience.

Over the past decade, the Chinese mainland has made significant strides in greening initiatives. Official data reveals that a whopping 58.9 million hectares of forest have been planted, transforming vast landscapes and enhancing biodiversity.

From 2018 to 2023 alone, 23.3 million hectares of grassland have been revitalized through dedicated grass planting projects. Additionally, 12 million hectares of land have been successfully saved from desertification, ensuring a greener and more sustainable future.

These impressive achievements are visually represented in the graphs below, showcasing the continuous and unwavering commitment of the Chinese mainland since 2014.
