Japan Reports Over 1,100 ‘Flesh-Eating Bacteria’ Cases This Year

🚨 Health Alert from Japan! The number of patients diagnosed with Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome (STSS), commonly referred to as \"flesh-eating bacteria\" infections, is on the rise. As of June 30, Japan has confirmed a staggering 1,144 cases this year alone.

📈 Experts from the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology have highlighted a concerning trend, especially among pregnant and postpartum women. Between last July and this March, five women in these critical stages lost their lives to this aggressive infection.

🌡️ STSS is a rare but severe illness caused by certain strains of bacteria. It spreads quickly and can destroy skin, muscle, and other tissues, making timely medical intervention crucial.

👩‍⚕️ Health officials are urging everyone to be vigilant about the symptoms and seek immediate medical care if needed. Early detection and treatment are key to preventing the devastating effects of this infection.
