🌨️🐾 Infrared cameras nestled within the Helan Mountain National Nature Reserve have captured mesmerizing footage of snow leopards and their fellow residents in Inner Mongolia's Alxa Left Banner.

One incredible shot features a robust snow leopard with a thick tail meticulously sniffing rocks before marking its territory with a playful kick at nearby bushes. Experts confirm that this behavior is a common territorial display among these majestic creatures.

So far, four snow leopards – two males and two females – have been identified through camera trap images in the Helan Mountains. These elusive cats, classified as a first-class state-protected species in China, primarily roam the stunning landscapes of Xinjiang, Xizang, Qinghai, and Inner Mongolia.

But snow leopards aren't the only stars of this natural show! The infrared cameras also spotted alpine musk deer, red deer, red foxes, and the vibrant blue-eared pheasant – all under China's national protection.

These incredible sightings highlight the significant strides made in wildlife conservation, thanks to the dedicated efforts of local authorities who have been enhancing habitats and safeguarding these beautiful species in recent years. 🌿✨
