Southern California Suffers Scorching Heat Wave with Record Temps
Southern California is currently battling an intense heat wave, with temperatures soaring to record-breaking highs! On Friday, some areas hit between 108°F (42.2°C) and 118°F (47.8°C) .
The National Weather Service Los Angeles has extended excessive heat warnings across much of southwest California through Monday evening, warning residents to stay cool and hydrated .
\"A long duration heat wave will peak today, with only minor and slow improvement after through Monday,\" the agency stated. The scorching temperatures are expected to linger into the weekend, especially in valleys, lower mountains, and deserts.
With a very hot air mass settling over the region and strong high pressure over the Western U.S., the heat will persist, making night-time cooling a challenge. Stay safe and take necessary precautions during these dangerously hot conditions!
